"Muskoka"

SOLD
Medium: Watercolours
Size: 45 cm x 58 cm

Before painting this little scene in Muskoka, I made a couple of charcoal sketches. Later, in my studio, I used them for one more study in paint. After finishing that sketch, I was ready to paint an original painting. While painting, I was consciencous of light; I used empty space to convey sunlight and perspective. I am very happy with what I did with this painting because the overall effects, composition and colours are just so complementary and vibrant that without them "Muskoka" would not be so charming.

"Red Propelers"

Sold
Medium: Watercolor
Size: 50 cm x 70 cm

These are flowers that I just can't remeber; I'm an artist not a botanician. But they remind me of propelers; so that is why I named them "Red Propelers". Once again, I concentrate on their size and position to reveal something of supernatural character in them. Fast flowing skies, intercepted with burning light further adds sacredness, not to mention intensity and movement, to the flowers. "Red Propelers" is perhaps more effective in suggesting sublimity than Sunflowers, a painting that triggered my interest in romantic composition of flowers.

"Open for Life"

SOLD
Medium: Watercolour
Size: 45 cm x 58 cm

If only people were so open and transperent. Unfortunately, it is something people don't always know how to do. But this is exactly what individuals have learn from nature and flowers in particular. "Open for life" invites viewer inside its cup and entertains him with redish tones. These tones are less stark than Red Propelers but they carry the lightheadines and transperency that previous painting does not.

"Klondike: Gold Rush"

Not for Sale
Medium: watercolors
Size: 60 cm x 75 cm

"Klondike: Gold Rush" is meticulously painted watercolors. It's aim is to show the loneliness that nature has to offer to people, who are willing to throw everything behind them, in order to strike rich. I used empty or white space to show that loneliness. But on the other hand, "Klondike: Gold Rush" also reveals how tranquil nature can be, how calm it can get. So, in a sense, I find this watercolors very therapeutic and soothing.
