This painting was inspired by the Orange Revolution and orange flags and ribons. Woman on the painting is an allegorical figure that represnts core values of the Ukrainian family. She is weaving orange thread, out of which cloth for flags and ribons was made. Her posture and determined gaze are symbolic and they meant to show how strong and determined she is, how if necessary she is willing to sacrafice herself for the benefit of the whole.

Pysanka in Vegreville, Alberta, Canada was erected by the Ukrainian community in the memory of the RCMP officers who had visited and provided some basic provisions to the first Ukrainian settlers in the Canadian Western provinces.
This painting was awarded to the Consular General of Ukraine, Dr. Ihor Lossovskyi on his departure from Toronto, Canada.
